Inspiration, Motivation, and Food-for-Thought…
The road to wellness is different for all of us, and sometimes it helps to know we’re not alone, see things from a new perspective, and feel a connection through shared experience
Finding Purpose in Work & Life
Last night, I attended a yoga teacher training geared towards teachers who are making the conscious choice to make their yoga lifestyle also their way of making a living. I listened to inspiring and thought-provoking words from highly experienced leaders in the yoga industry Annie Carpenter, Joan Hyman, and Christina Holopainen. And, I left with a lot to reflect upon as I continue to expand my offerings as a yoga teacher who is teaching yoga for a living. I realized that the words and experiences they shared support people beyond the yoga industry. They support the many of us who are looking for meaning in what it is we do for a living, and those of us craving a life that feels aligned with who we are
Like physical patterns in the body, our sleep patterns can be shifted
As I reflect on my life, I know I’ve struggled with sleep since childhood. I had worries… yes worries at the age of 6-7. It was hard to get a good night’s sleep after watching Ronald Regan on TV talking about nuclear war and thinking about the tornados that might take the house down in the middle of the night following panic-provoking tornado drills at school. As I got older, I played sports with early start times
The Road to Wellness Begins With An Intention
When I lead yoga classes, I ask my students to set an intention if they feel comfortable with doing so. The intention could anything at all - an intention for the class, for the week, or related to something they’re wanting to bring into their lives. Maybe it’s around a healthier body, a healthier relationship, or moving towards a more fulfilling job. Maybe they don’t even know what they want.. hey, that’s OK, I’ve been there..
